FlexTube®

Introducing FlexTube® Cables from Prysmian - Fibre density like no other! The FlexTube® products offer many advantages compared with using standard loose tube optical cable. The innovative micromodule design incorporates soft, flexible fibre units - more dense and quicker to prepare and install. These key benefits of denser design and easier handling translate to major savings in terms of time and cost – and the larger the project, the greater the savings. What does FlexTube® deliver?

MINISM@RT™

Our Minism@rt cables present the next stage in fibre optic cable deployment. Using state of the art manufacturing technology and process control, Prysmian has drastically miniaturised loose tube cables, offering benefits to both installers and network owners. This radical reduction in cable cross-section leads to high fibre-density cables, significantly increasing duct utilisation. This offers the potential to increase the number of fibres in a duct, lower the number of ducts needed or extend the life of the existing infrastructure, all of which offer significant savings to network owners.

SingleSm@rt™

Our new Singlesm@rt cable uses a unique cable design of composite glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) strength member laid in parallel to loose tube,  thus eliminates fillers found in a traditional multi loose tube design. This design provides a small and extremely cost effective cable with tensile and crush strengths comparable to the larger traditional loose tube design. The loose-tube contains up to 24 single-mode fibres and is filled with a low viscosity, non-melting gel that prevents the longitudinal passage of moisture along the tube. The cable core is protected from moisture permeation and water penetration through a dry water-blocking system. Each individual fibre is coloured within the tube for unambiguous identification. The cable is completed by the application of a...

SM@RTCORE®

Our size-reduced, waterproof SM@RTCORE® range of fibre optic loose tube cables saves you space, time and money. It’s easier to install and you can increase the number of fibres in a duct, lower the number of ducts needed or extend the life of existing ducts. Plus, the strong, still smooth, polyethylene/nylon sheath protects against termites and reduces friction. With duct space becoming an increasingly sought after commodity, the new cable offers many advantages to network owners. SM@RTCORE® is manufactured with a composite outer jacket comprising a polyethylene sheath which is bonded to an outer layer of nylon. By bonding the two layers together the nylon jacket can be made thinner while the thicker polyethylene sheath acts as a substrate to...

RETRACTANETXS

If you are looking for a system that can be easily deployed in an existing duct, sub-duct, directly buried or aerial infrastructure, then Prysmian’s RETRACTANETXS solution meets the challenge. In settings such as residential (brownfield or greenfield sites), rural and aerial applications, the RETRACTANETXS solution is fast, flexible, reliable and userfriendly. A combination of a fully integrated connectivity solutions and a full suite of innovative tools allows for efficient and effective installation practices, delivering a reduced Total Cost of Ownership. The unique RetractaCable, filled with smaller fibre modules, runs from the Optical Distribution Point, through trenches or from pole to pole, and can then be cut and retracted from one point to another. It’s then fed or blown directly to the customer premises. RETRACTANETXS offers significant savings...

VERTICASAXS

Designed specifically for bringing optical fibre directly to residents of high and low rise apartments and offices, the heart of the VertiCasaXS system features a new concept in optical cable construction allowing remarkably easy fibre access and break-out, reducing the demand for skilled labour and installation time and cost. The VertiCasaXS system provides a fast and flexible means of connecting users in a Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU). The system comprises a main riser cable of up to 144 fibres, which can be easily accessed as needed and either branched directly to individual subscribers on different floors of the MDU without the need for the splicing of fibre within the riser of the building, or alternatively spliced at the riser to a...

ARM@CORE - All Dielectric

Terminate the rat battle with heavy armour. Our all-dielectric ARM@CORE fibre optic cables are fully protected against ruthless New Zealand rodents. Despite the solid hardware these loose tube cables are still surprisingly lightweight, flexible and easy to handle. The Prysmian ARM@CORE cable uses glass reinforced plastic (GRP) rods to fully armour the cable and offer the robust protection needed to block rodents and polyamide provides anti-termite protection. Furthermore, the cable uses SM@RTCORE reduced diameter technology and offers a rodent proof cable that is not much larger than a standard loose tube cable. This means that flexibility and ease of installation is maintained. The all dielectric design negates any issues concerning lightning strikes and high soil resistivity, rendering expensive and time-consuming earthing requirements...

Corrugated Steel Tape Armoured

The Corrugated Steel Tape Armoured cable is designed for external underground installations in ducts or by direct burial. Corrugated steel tape provides rodent protection and polyamide provides anti-termite protection. The armoured structure also provides additional compressive strength for the cable.
